In 2017, Swiss civil aviation registered around 1.4 million take-offs and landings, which included 56 million local and transfer passengers. With approximately 99% of the total, the line and charter traffic was distinctly dominant at passenger level. General aviation consists of 67% of the movements.
Key figures on civil aviation in 2017
The Swiss Civil Aviation Statistics considers all civil aviation in Switzerland. In addition to the traffic of lines and charter, this also includes the so-called general aviation. Commercial flights and private air transport for business trips, pleasure flights, transportation, sports, etc are, for example, part of this. In addition to aircraft data, civil aviation statistics also include data on other aircraft such as helicopters, motor-gliders, gliders and airships.
